FURMAN UNIVERSITY PROJECT
-Furman Stormwater Master Plan: PEA has been the professional in charge of the Master Plan for over 20 years, and currently updates the County each time a civil project is completed.
PAC Building: When the PAC building was renovated, PEA provided the Structural Engineering for the renovation and the Civil Engineering including parking and the new Fire Truck Road. The roof structure was analyzed for the installation of solar panels.
Bell Tower Housing: PEA provided the civil engineering when the Bell Tower Housing units were renovated
Southern Living Home: PEA provided both Civil and Structural Engineering for the Sustainability Office Project that included the house and outlying structures and solar panel supports, the grounds with pervious pavement and bio-retention ponds.
Furman Golf Course Renovations: PEA worked with the Golf Course Architect and provided the grading plans and construction stormwater permit design and management.
Furman Sewer Main through the Golf Course: PEA provided the sewer design and construction plans and permits for this sewer main that provides sewer access for Furman Golf Course structures and for The Woodlands at Furman Retirement Center and Villas.
Child Development Center: When the old Child Development Center was closed and moved, PEA provided the Civil Engineering for Grading, Paving and Bio-retention for the site where a house was renovated.
Theatre Arts Building: PEA provided the Civil Engineering and Structural Engineering when the Theatre Arts Building was renovated and the parking lot restored.
REK Short Game Facility: PEA provided the Civil Engineering Grading Plans and Land Disturbance Permit for the installation of the Short Game site design.
Dining Services Road and Parking: PEA redesigned the parking and delivery road, and provided the Stormwater upgrades and permit for construction.
Soccer Field House, Softball Fieldhouse, Baseball Fieldhouse, Track Building: Over a number of projects, PEA provided the Civil Engineering and much of the Structural Engineering for these sports buildings.
Lakeside Housing: Renovation of the seven buildings of the North (Lakeside) Housing, Structural Engineering including new ramps, HVAC support in attic and new roof Access openings, stairs and entries, demolition; Civil Engineering including grading, sidewalks, parking, garbage compactor area, stormwater and detention pond, site disturbance permit.
Football Field Synthetic Turf and Parking: Synthetic Turf and underdrain system, reroute existing stormwater, added parking and detention basin, water quality devices, grading, and land disturbance permit.
Football Press Box: Provided Civil Engineering, grading, stormwater design, parking, and access road, and land disturbance permit.
North and South Parking Refurbishments: Civil Engineering to refurbish the North and South Parking Lots at the Chapel and at the Football Stadium, land disturbance permit, and stormwater design.
Golf Maintenance Building: Civil Engineering for the new Golf Course Maintenance Building, including stormwater, stormwater detention, parking, pavement, and sewer connection.
Solar Farm: Civil Engineering for the new Solar Farm to the east of Campus, land disturbance permit, water quality, grading, and perimeter controls.
Alley Gym Parking Refurbishments: Civil Engineering to refurbish the Student and Facility parking at Alley Gym, redid the front entry drive and access to facilities in the building, land disturbance permit, water quality devices, grading, and stormwater.
University Center: Civil and Structural Engineering for three different projects to add facilities to the Original University Center and Book Store.
Place of Peace: Civil Engineering for grading, stormwater, and stormwater quality control for the Pagoda donated to the University, land disturbance permit.
Administration Building: Provided Civil Engineering for parking lot refurbishment and added parking, stormwater design and detention, land disturbance permit, and grading.
Golf Training Facility: Provided Civil Engineering for new Golf Training Facility, including stormwater, stormwater detention, pavement, and sewer connection.
South Housing: Provided Civil Engineering and site phasing for the demo of one dormitory, renovation of one dormitory, and construction of one new dormitory, which includes stormwater, stormwater detention, pavement, and sewer connection, as well as land disturbance permit and grading.
PEA has provided either or both Structural Engineering and Civil Engineering for older projects for over 30 years. Some of the facilities PEA has provided design for include: Thomas A Roe Art Building, Tennis Center, Furman Chapel, Soccer Field, John Johns Hall, Stone Residence, Furman Hall, Amphitheater, Yountz Conference Center, Duke Library, Watkins Center, Administration Building and Welcome Center, Hipp Hall, Band Shell, Dining Hall, Chiller Plant, and Band Shell.
